First Full day in Tucson

Got up early this morning to ensure we joined the line for entry to the Pima Air and Space Musuem and get tickets for the first tour of AMARG. I did the AMARG tour many many many years ago when it was still known as AMARC. The new tour which departs from the museum is much better than the previous one. We got to see a lot more of the facility and the tour guide was an ex USAF pilot who had a lot of fantastic knowledge he was more than willing to download. I took lots of photos. I am so glad for the digital revolution. To get over 500 photos processed and printed would have cost a small fortune in the "old" days! At the end of the tour, which lasted about 75 minutes, it was time for a stroll through the museum exhibits. Most of which are outside in the Arizona sun. February is a great time of year to visit as it isn't too hot and the air is very clear. Next on the list was a quick drive around a few scrap yards. Melanie took great pleasure in watching and laughing as I lifted my camera over fences to try and get the best shots! Later on, it was time to visit the out let mall. Melanie was able to enjoy some good real therapy.
