Tucson to Los Angeles
The flight back from Tucson to LA took a bit longer than expected. We were due to depart Tucson at 1835, but our plane was utilized for another service which meant our flight was cancelled! They routed us via San Diego, departing Tucson at 1945. We have never been to San Deigeo before, not sure if we have now. We were kept on the plane on the ground after the San Dieo passengers disembarked. We were held up for a while due to incorrect head counts on board and then by a slot delay to Los Angeles. But, we made it - and only two and half hours late. P.S. it is freezing in Los Angeles!

Tombstone
Took a trip back in time today after a one hour drive down to Tombstone - the famous site of the gun fight at the OK Corral.
This was a fascinating day out and got to experience a lot of history including a tour in a historic stage coach. A highlight was a reenactment of the famous gun battle - apparently closer to the truth than the movie version.
We also got to shoot a Colt 45 - 6 shots for three USD - we both survived!
Tombstone is a must see place if you are ever in the area - a great day out!

First Full day in Tucson
Got up early this morning to ensure we joined the line for entry to the Pima Air and Space Musuem and get tickets for the first tour of AMARG.
I did the AMARG tour many many many years ago when it was still known as AMARC. The new tour which departs from the museum is much better than the previous one. We got to see a lot more of the facility and the tour guide was an ex USAF pilot who had a lot of fantastic knowledge he was more than willing to download.
I took lots of photos. I am so glad for the digital revolution. To get over 500 photos processed and printed would have cost a small fortune in the "old" days!
At the end of the tour, which lasted about 75 minutes, it was time for a stroll through the museum exhibits. Most of which are outside in the Arizona sun. February is a great time of year to visit as it isn't too hot and the air is very clear.
Next on the list was a quick drive around a few scrap yards. Melanie took great pleasure in watching and laughing as I lifted my camera over fences to try and get the best shots!
Later on, it was time to visit the out let mall. Melanie was able to enjoy some good real therapy.

Chillaxing
We spent today just chilling. Had a leisurely stroll alongside and round Manhattan Beach. This place has a very nice laid back feel to it. As you walk around, there seems to be views of the ocean on every street corner! Lots or nice places to eat and plenty of speciality shops.
Managed to spend a little time on Imperial Hill shooting a few photos. The late afternoon light is great at this time of year.
No visit to LA would be complete with he obligatory trip to Frys and Costco!
Tomorrow, we board another flight and on to another state.
We have arrived
Great flight across and some very nice food was consumed! We have arrived safely in LA, procesed through immigration and customs at lightning speed, collected car and now checked in to the hotel. Intention is to grab a couple of hours sleep before heading out for the rest of them day. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz
